Hello, World!

Just a little subtle programmer humor there in the title.
Hey folks! According to the gVisit map, our blog has gone international! Visitors from Jakarta, Rome, Mannheim and Santo Domingo have graced our blog with a visit within the last day or so. What was that thing about going unto all the world?

A donation has been made for the church website to upgrade it's map. Once it's registered and operational, I'll make a donation for the church blog page as well. Don't want them to get confused with the dual-site thing. :)

Well, since you are making "subtle programmer humor" I've had one lurking around in my head since our last home groups when you explained to everyone what one earth is a blog. You said it was a web log and so I thought another great name for Sunshine's blog would be "WE BLOG". Pretty corny huh? Not too bad though...haha.

Let's leave the humor to the professionals! Anyway, I was wondering about visitors from the far-off lands. Do you think the map is accurate? I would like to leave the following message:

IF YOU ARE A VISITOR FROM A FOREIGN LAND (OUTSIDE SCIOTO COUNTY), PLEASE SIGN OUR GUESTBOOK AND TELL US WHY YOU ARE HERE. ALSO, COME AGAIN VERY SOON!

A link to the website map has been added to our church homepage. I'll be registering the blog page later tonight, so the map here should be ready to put online by tomorrow (Friday) evening.

As for the accuracy, it's hard to tell. I did notice some strange errors such as Mt. Vernon, OH and Ft. Wayne, IN being displayed just a few blocks from the White House in Washington, D.C.
I also saw Portsmouth, England displayed and wonder if it might actually have been Portsmouth, OH.

Also, in regards to the name on the blog, we originally set it up with a name similar to the church website (sunshine-church) to make the web address easier to remember, but the name on the header can be changed to something else if folks aren't happy with it.

Oh, and for the non-programmer folks out there, a "Hello, World" program is typically the first program that a programmer writes when learning a new programming language. It usually is only a couple of lines that writes the words "Hello, World!" on the screen.

Huh!, I thought it was a reference to Tiger Woods. That was his statement to the media when he first turned pro.

Golf, golf, golf. That's all you men ever think about. :)

anonymous should be corrected to read "anonymous female", clearly it takes a feminine voice to make such a comment

Once again, it wasn't me! ;)
