What's up with this BLOG !!

I want to know what's going on! My post, from the other day, was clearly leftish in it's leanings. I attend church with a good number of folks who really believe that Fox News truly is "fair and balanced" and yet I get 0 comments. What's up with that!

Are you suggesting Fox News is not fair and balanced?

I don't know Jason, that's a little bigger issue than I want to tackle. When I see someone in need, I want to help, of course, but I don't ponder the socio-economic impact on our stereotypical constrained principles. I just want to help people out of their respective predicaments and hope they see Christ in the effort.

To be honest, I didn't read it. I guess it's my ADHD showing thru...short attention span. Posts of more than a paragraph or two tend to get skipped unless the title is particularly interesting. "Local Missions" just didn't cut it.

I knew if I went after Fox News I'd get some action!

Ok, Scott, I concede that the post is a little stuffy. What I'm trying to suggest is-- deep down we look at poor people as lazy and therefore we're not all that willing to get involved in their lives-- plus the fact that we're too consumed with our own life to share anything with anyone else anyway! And.. that's a far cry from the vision of the church one might derive from the Jerusalem Church in Acts.

I'm just tired of always being the one to comment, post, and everything else on here. I thought I would see what the rest of the world thought for a change and let them be first to have an opinion. ;)

That's my excuse. Take it or leave it. :D

I think you are touching on a very personal subject. Something that deep down we would be afraid to admit that we, as a person or as a congregation, would feel. As a society, I think that people look down at those who are not at the same social standing. I'm not suggesting that we do this at Sunshine, at least not on a conscience level. But in ways that people feel superior to others, others will feel inferior. It may not be something that is said or even acted upon, it may be upon an unconscience level. It may be how we dress, what we drive or just ones percieved standing in society. I don't remember who said it but either Steve or Jamie were trying to describe our congregation to Joe Beam, and they described it as a modest farming community in a poorer region. But when Joe Beam saw our parking lot, he made a point that we must not be that bad off. Sorry for plagarising or butchering. My point is that no matter where you are on the social-economical ladder, there is someone higher and lower and that we should always be cognisant of that fact. Again I'm not suggesting that we do this, but there is always room for improvement, especially when our role model is Jesus.
PS There are news networks beyond WSAZ?????
