Who's going to the movie?

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is out! The reviews are good. We need to work up a date and time to go see it as a gang. Who's in? Count me & Terry Knicely in.

Hey Jamie, according to your post time you should be practicing for your play. HA!!

I would love to join the party. Count me in too, coach!

Somebody needs to pick a time, I'm for as soon as possible, but I'm guessing play practice will rule out the thesbians among us.

Was Lisa Jo really blogging during church time?

We're out of town at the moment and we've been out of the loop as far as things on the blog are concerned. I finally got to a computer just now and informed Tim that you all were making plans to go to the movies to see the new film and he got really excited and said to tell you all to count him in as well. I havn't made my decision yet as to whether or not I'm going. I'm still dealing with issues concerning Christians at witches/sorcery, etc. I want to check the movie out a little better so I can make a more informed decision about what I should do. Just because the story's author was a Christian doesn't make it right for me to see. I take these things very seriously. I just want to make the best choices I can even if it's not the popular thing to do. I won't look down on the rest of you for going to the movie. This is my own personal decision to make concerning my own walk with Jesus. I'm not in charge of anyone but myself so please don't get it in your head that I am being "holier than thou". ;)

How about Saturday night? Other suggestions welcome! (I'm hoping to get all those who are willing, to pitch a couple extra dollars for about 3 tickets--3 people who would otherwise not get to see the movie)

Jennifer, (If you're comfortable doing so) would you elaborate on the thoughts/feelings you have that would lead you to choose not to go? I'm asking respectfully, I think it would make a good discussion (only if it does not put you in a vulnerable position).

Jennifer,
In the movie Satan is known as the White Witch, but there is no magical witchcraftiness other than the temptations Satan puts before us and, of course, the awesome power of God. The spiritual warfare CS Lewis brings out is very closely related to the Bible.
The movie shows a broader picture of reality than the book, especially in the beginning.
When I think about the spiritual warfare that goes on around us that is in a realm just beyond what we can see, but does effect our lives, I think Lewis did a great job capturing that realm.
Of course it is fantasy and not reality, nor is it to be taken as fact, but fiction.
