Today I was drinking a glass of grape juice and was thinking how good it tasted when suddenly I thought about communion. It was kinda' weird because I kept gulping this stuff down and this isn't what I do during communion. I thought for a moment about how happy I was that we don't have to drink real blood and then took another big gulp of juice.
Has this ever happened to any of you while drinking grape juice or maybe eating a cracker?
I know this post is weird but I figured no one else was posting anything today so I might as well. My posts are usually pretty strange and this kind of thing may be just what you're looking for during a day of boredom at work.

Drinking blood--now that is a weird thought. I think you have been watching too many vampire flicks.
That's funny!
One Sunday, while taking communion, one of my neices was sitting beside me watching everything I was doing. She looked up at me while I was drinking the grape juice from the little cup and said "That's Jesus' blood!" loud enough for most of our side of the church building to hear. :D I was so proud of her for knowing what it represented and voicing it loud enough for all to hear. There's nothing quite like it when God uses a child to keep things real, fresh and raw during a time that we adults tend to just go through the motions without giving any genuine thought as to what we are REALLY doing.
Thank God for the children!
I am well aware of the resurrection eggs! I've never used them myself but have created my own version of them. Two years ago, I started a new tradition in the Lindeman family by hosting an easter egg hunt at grandma's house. Inside the eggs, I add candy and bible related stickers, etc. In addition to hiding eggs for the kids to find, I also hide dollar store toys and specially selected symbolic items related to Jesus. After everything has been found, we all go inside and open up our eggs and put our stuff in a big ziploc bag. Then we put the empty eggs in a big bag for use the next year. I then go around the room asking each kid what their symbolic item means in relation to Jesus and when they get the answer right, I reward them with a nice prize. Sometimes getting the right answer requires some hints. ;) The kids love it and no Easter bunny is needed because Jesus is our focus! It's great!
Last night, at church, I walked through the doors and the only person I saw was Jason. We said hi to one another and then he asked me something that was almost expected from him. "You havn't been drinking any blood have you?" To which I replied in a humored voice "NO." Then he asked "Have you been thinking about it?" To which I replied "Yes." Of course I was referring to the idea of thinking about his previous joke on this comment section and how funny it was.....but he didn't know that. It was funny seeing his reaction to my answer! ;) Of course, he may decide to once again suggest I see a shrink. There are days (many of them) that I think it may be a good idea to go see one. I can certainly give a whole to meaning to what it is to be a blonde at times.
Just thought I'd share a funny moment.
