Probably just like everything else---we take too much for granted and forget all of the blessings that we get daily.
The reason why we need to be remined of what Jesus did for us and that God loves us is becuase it reminds us of why we are who we are. For myself knowing what Jesus did for me and knowing that God loves me all the time it was allows me to live. If were not for Jesus or God in my life I would see no point in living or view life as a great gift. I don't need to be reminded everyday I need to know all the time! Well thats my thoughts on the question.
-Matthew H.
I think that faith at its most basic level is a choice. We choose to believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We choose to accept the promises of God as applicable and relevant to our lives. This choice must frequently be reaffirmed, especially as we face trials and challenges of various kinds. Reflecting on our past experience with God is critical to reaffirming the decision to follow Jesus in the present.
There is no (conclusive) empirical evidence to validate our choice of faith. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for." (Heb 11:1-2)
It seems that we as created beings have the ability to bring pleasure to our creator when we choose to believe.
