I fried up a hamburger and sat down for lunch watching the news on the TV here at the office. We had DirecTV put in immediately following 9-11 when we were stuck at the office out of touch with what was happening in the outside world. Funny how we want instant news these days!
I was just planning on emailing my disgust to Fox for their planning to air the OJ story when I saw Fox News interview a woman - a report about prayer chains on the internet. Her story was that her mother's cancer would need immediate surgery so she posted a message on her blog requesting prayer. She received thousands of hits from across the world! People all over the world were praying for her and her mother! WOW!
The story went on to describe church websites, church blogs, and email chains; Christians linked together to support one another in prayer and thought. Her faith was strengthened and her heart was comforted! All this aired on a major network news channel!
I'm still going to voice my disapproval on the OJ thing, but I also know I should email my support for this story too.

"With God all things are possible." (Matt. 19:26) I'm thankful for the opportunity to share with those close to me, as well as all over the world. The internet is a great opportunity, if used for the glory of God.

Wonderful to hear! There is power in words and there is also power in deeds. We need to always be careful how we as Christians appear to the world when we speak, write or go about our daily lives. People are watching and listening!

Blogs are great!
* They provide the opportunity for non-threatening ministry. People read only because they want it, no obligations.
* Atypical relationships are formed. This week I received a written reponse to a question from an ACU prof. If I were still in Texas, I would need an appointment just to ask. I have learned much from my interaction with bloggers.
* Blogging is writing and writing is a good discipline. Writing forces the thinking to deeper levels. As Francis Bacon is quoted, "Reading makes a broad man, writing makes an exact man."
Anyway...I love blogs!
Thanks for sharing Scott...It is good to see that the news finally has something positive to show and talk about, instead of exposing anything negative they can find.
We need to respond to the media so they know what the public want.
