At the risk of sounding overly zealous...I'm wondering if it might be a good idea for us to meet monthly and have a significant prayer time (in addition to the Sunday morning meetings & Shepherd's prayer sessions) like 2-3 hours or longer where we pray together for our church, the people in the box, our nation, the sick, etc. I realize this sounds like an insane time committment -- but we all know it works.
Any body got some ideas?

Eric, liked your last two blogs. I'm up for the time of prayer. I think Jason and some others are doing some extra things on Thursday nights anyway--or they were for awhile. The early Sunday morning sessions are difficult for me cause I'm usually in panic mode taking care of last minute stuff, but you and me could start something and add people as we go along. Steve
Did not know that other things were happening. It seems like a long time -- but when 6-10 people start praying a couple hours slips away in no time.
I firmly believe that if we come together as a congregation and pray, God will accomplish His will through us.
The Thursday evening meeting has slowed down since the beginning of summer. There is no time that is good for everyone. Keep pressing on with this idea. I would be glad to participate, if at all possible.
Keep in mind the Sunday morning session, as well. Anyone is welcome to come. (7:30-8:30am)
I agree that prayer as a congregation is an important and faith building thing. Why don't we devote more time to it on Sunday and/or Wednesday nights? Say monthly. Why do our prayer sessions end up being 2-4 people getting together at very inconvenient times.
