About My New Blog....

I have a new blog. It's called "Live Green = Save Green" and is located at http://agreenablefamily.blogspot.com/ I have also added a link here on Sunshine's blog.

I believe gluttony goes hand in hand with wastefulness. Gluttony isn't just about food and drink. It's about wanting more and more of something; anything; everything. It's being unsatisfied with what you already have. It's at this point, that we are most tempted to throw things away and replace them with the biggest and best we can find. As Americans, we are the richest people in the world and therefore we "can" waste our money and time on anything we want and get as much of it as we want because we can afford it.....all for the sake of HAVING it and having it before our neighbor has it.

Those who have been caught up in this recurring nightmare, know that there is never "enough" to make you happy. Once you have it, you've moved on to the next big thing because your new buy doesn't satisfy......anymore. Gluttony is a spiritual disease and I am sick of being wasteful and watching the world be wasteful!

I have learned and am still learning about ways I can not only stop wasting energy, but how I can stop wasting money by doing things like turning off lights when leaving the room, unplugging appliances when not in use because they mysteriously use more electricity plugged in and not being used than when they're plugged in and being used. I've learned how to save on my water bill by adding a container of water to the toilet tank so less water is used to fill the tank and flush the toilet.

You don't have to be Ed Begley Jr. to make a difference in your pocket book or the environment. You can do little things and they all add up to one big difference in the end.

No, saving the environment and saving money doesn't save your soul, but it certainly proves to God and those watching you as a Christian that you simply care......and care about someone else besides yourself for a change.

Come to my blog as often as you can and learn along side me and my little family as we attempt to make a difference in our own lives and the efficiency in which we live them....both biblically and enviromentally.

Thank you for reading!

Jennifer
