We just received this distressing email from our former team leader who keeps us up to date on the latest in Myanmar. Please forward this to all on the distribution list. Folks may have to read between the lines because it is written a little in code, since it comes from one of our colleagues from within the country. Please pray for the peoples of Myanmar who are suffering more than we can imagine.

Thanks.

From Myanmar...

This is CG in MY COUNTRY. I am asking that you help use whatever resourcesyou have to send out an urgent request asking for intentional prayer! I don't know if it is wise to go into a lot of details here... so I won't.

The situation:
Since the time of the cyclone it has been very difficult forpeople to help the survivors. The buddy people and the gv have given a little bit of aid to their fellow Bahma and bud people but have not only neglected the Keren and Christian people but have actually begun to turn it into an excuse for genocide. For example, one bud village will be helpedbut the neighboring Christians and Keren are either not helped and not allowed to leave or are taken to a camp where they can't leave and are givenonly a little food that is poisoned. In one camp there are many snakes and people are dying of the snake bites. There is a great lack for clean water and on the 21st I was told that the children that had been seen were at level 4 starvation. Despite these conditions the believers are asking those they see to pray for them and for Bibles. They are sharing what they are able to find and are peacably helping each other as best as they can. In some cases they have absolutely no clothes and are completely naked.

The need:
Join me in prayer! I have begun fasting during lunch time (I know it's small but it helps me to pray for them with more understanding) and praying that as the Lord has given bread to the Israelites or from a bird to Elijah, or to the widow and her son whom Elijah stayed with, or the feedingof the 5,000 by Jesus) that the Lord would be their provider! I know that He can. I don't know that He will, but I beg that you would help to mobilize as many as possible to pray on behalf of these brothers and sisters here whom are enduring persecution even unto death for many. Pray for theirfaith to be made stronger. Pray that the Lord would make their water clean! Yes, I am praying for no small miracle, but nearly every option for the world to help these people has been made impossible! They are alone! The power of prayer is much stronger than the help of the world anyway. So, been couraged to pray ferverntly!

On the bright side, some of the bud people who have witnessed what is goingon have noted that buddy people who are providing aid are only giving a little and are wanting merrit and honor through it, where as many, many believers are working generously and wanting no recognition at all. Please join me! Petetion our Lord, the One who hears and sees and knows all! This is a desperate time!

Isaiah 51:14-17
The exile will soon be set free, and will not die in thedungeon, nor will his bread be lacking. For I am the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea and its waves roar (the Lord of hosts is His name). I haveput My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, 'You areMy people.' For such a time as this...

Go-team
