We all have dreams to be important, for people to like us, and to earn a lot of money. So I guess materialism to me is a combination of wealth, importance, and friendships (things that I want here on earth) I have found that over the years, a faith that requires everything could certainly get in the way of such dreams or plans - and it does. When such a test comes we often do not pass. I've failed this test many times. The only cure for this is to more fully understand and experience the Love that will not let us go. Sometimes I wonder if we've even tasted enough of the Divine for it to become everything to us. I struggle with this myself. I've wanted "fire insurance" from God and for him to fix a few things and then let me get back to doing what I want. Anyone else deal with this?

I think we all struggle.... The beginning of the victory has to be simply recognizing it. True confessions are often lacking from our faith walks.
Great thoughts!!
