Intentional Growth PT-3

Life is a personal challenge. All of the stuff of life (your life) function as a crucible. Within the crucible, you are confronted with a great challenge. Will you apply all of your heart, mind, and strength toward embracing the challenge? Or, will you live as a cold and timid soul?

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Life can be demanding. It is easy to put the cruise control on and go through the motions as Christians. But God asks us to be more. A 100 watt bulb shines brighter than a 40 watt bulb. It takes energy to run a light bulb and it takes energy to live a life as a Christian. It just comes down to how many watts are you using and how much effort should you be giving. Sounds like a physics lesson.

Jason - I agree that life is a personal challenge. How we function in life is sometimes a trial and test and God is always testing us as how we handle lifes challenges. Also maybe the challenge we are trying to accomplish is not what God wants us to accomplish. Sometimes no matter how hard we try we will be criticized and God wants us to handle these criticisms as christians. Victory is applying all of our hearts, mind and strength to the best of our abilities and letting God help us embrace the challenge. I don't always handle things as God wants but I am learning everyday of the importance of God in my everyday life and the need for his help in meeting my challenges.

Kristin - I am so proud of you and the responsibilites you have taken on by teaching your classes at Shawnee. I am sure that you are doing your best with the teaching challenges and the opportunities that have been given you at Shawnee. Good Luck with your teaching career and I am sure God has great challenges for you in the future.
